Testimonials

Sue, you have been the most wonderful mentor for me on my journey up the levels with dressage. From a former show jumper competing at Elementary all the way up to PSG, your quiet and insightful way of coaching is truly wonderful and I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for us. You have a way with words and analogies which helps me to understand what I need to do to improve and your training is always delivered with such kindness and empathy for the horse. I can’t recommend your training highly enough!!

Sue has been an inspiring trainer and great support both ridden and in-hand for both of my horses. Sue often thinks ‘outside the box’ and always from the horse’s perspective. She explains things quite visually which is great to remember when she’s not there! The in-hand work has been amazing particularly for loading. Sue is very good at pointing out my errors in handling which ensures clear communication and consistency for my horses. Thoroughly enjoy our lessons with Sue who pushes us just that little bit further each time, more frequently with that ‘wow’ feeling as a result!

Sues ability to read and understand horses always amazes me, she just sees things that others don’t. I have had many lessons with her over the years and she is so kind and patient. I highly recommend Sue and encourage anyone to have a lesson with her but be warned, you will be hooked!!

Sue is a very supportive instructor who has a fantastic eye for detail (no matter the type of horse). I’ve been having lessons with Sue for many years now – she’s helped me discover a love for dressage I never thought I’d have and continues to help me progress to new levels. Her teaching style of asking questions about the horses way of going means I have her voice in my head when I’m riding, constantly helping me to improve (including during tests!).

We have enjoyed having Sue Grice as a Cavallo Sponsored Rider for many years now, and we all love having her on our team. Sue is passionate about the well-being of her horses and has a great understanding of how best to help them, often leading her to think “outside the box”. This led her to finding our hoof boots, which have helped during Laminitis bouts and for comfort while hacking and during transport. Sue has produced some fantastic short videos for Cavallo about her adventures being barefoot & booted. We always look forward to seeing her videos. They are filled with the best equestrian humour and the unique personalities of her horses, dog and cat really shine through!

My daughter has been getting lessons from Sue since she got her new pony in February. She makes the lessons so enjoyable and explains everything in a way that Hannah understands. Hannah looks forward to her lessons! Sue has helped them become an amazing wee team! Thank you!

I’ve been getting lessons from Sue with my ex-racer Jacob, Jacob is just 18mnts off the track. Sue has really helped me to realise that I was putting too much pressure on myself and Jacob to be at a level we weren’t ready for and by stripping things right back we are now making our schooling sessions fun again. Sue explains things in a language that is simple to understand and never makes you feel belittled when things aren’t going well. There was a time when I started to think Jacob was too much for me…thank goodness for Sue coming along and making me love my big boy again 💙

What feels like many moons ago Sue was my instructor and helped me as a teenager nurture a young Thoroughbred (Jasmine) and then again later with my wayward highland (Campbell) but now she coaches my daughter Grace on her section b loan pony Landswood Diamond Finale aka Fynn and most recently helping her transition to horses on our homebred Hope. Sue you are amazing
